SPX500: Who Traps Whom

S&P 500 index of US listed sharesFXCM

Huraian

Who has been trapped? This is the only question I want answered. It's burning me from the inside.

Tom has many super cool videos on the subject of probabilities and he's one of the few people I'm willing to listen to:

Komen

this continues to go on - the pivots rule

Komen

same here try the play button; time is the mystery and the risk factor though

Can we go higher from here? It's possible, but I'm looking at the volume and I don't see it. People expect a breakout to the upside and I want to know their reasons. One day rallies have been typical with the news such as today.

Komen

We can see that around July 6 there was a massive amount of selling done judging by the volume. That has not been counterbalanced as of today. Just saying.

Komen

The lines on our charts without volume interpretation are not very useful. They are mostly our imagination. The volume tells a much better story overall.

I think that not thinking is kind of like Zen. "I think therefore I am" is total rubbish. "I am" probably because my mom and dad were hot for sure and not because I think they might have been. If you know what I mean.

Do you every listen to John Carter from Simpler Options?? I did not know (until recently) that he worked with Soss back at TD. He says the markets move the direction that causes the most pain to the most people. I guess that means shorts are still getting hurt. With such low volume today and still such a big gap up makes me think there are not many sellers (captain obvious) I want to be short but market seems to be going higher no matter what.....I am waiting for a decent spot to reestablish short positions (using options for min. 6 month durations) Summer seems it will be flat overall with some buy/sell programs running just to test depth of markets here and there. I guess bottom line I am saying bullish until proven otherwise.....my experience is rather limited

@dluxe23, Yes, as of today we should be bullish. We're also at the top of the 6 week range and tomorrow we can gap down. I'll take a listen to John Carter. :)

This guy has also been watching expected moves for a long while......says SPX stays in the range and /NQ has been busting them. Has been following this trend as long as I have been watching......also a former TD employee from TOS

@dluxe23, Thank you. I'll check it out.

@dluxe23, I like this guy. He makes sense.

@dluxe23, Also, if this is a breakout situation - I want to see some solid arguments why it is one and why now. The range is still largely intact and we're at resistance. It's just an opinion - if I was an expert I would not be on this site :)

@FoggyLights, John Carter has not been doing as many videos lately.....his partners have been running the show

I was in his trade room for a while and he is VERY good. You have to be willing to watch markets all day and reverse on a dime....(I am not) Most of what he has said I have found to be true. Also his mentor was Mark Douglas and his book "Mastering the Trade" is one of my all-time favs

@dluxe23, thanks for sharing

@FoggyLights, My best sources for market opinions.

Go to weekly video. These guys use market profile which would/should be more your speed....I use their opinions and get a little nervous when I am on the opposite side of their trades (I was recently short TSLA ratio fly....they were long) Just good thoughts to consider
