Wall Street Leans Forward Pre-Bell; Futures Green, Europe Higher, Asia Mixed

Wall Street was leaning forward pre-bell Monday with broad-market futures moderately above Friday's closes as traders await the minutes of the Federal Reserve's April policy meeting on Wednesday for clues to the central bank's policies.

In the futures, the S&P 500 rose 1%, the Nasdaq inclined 0.8% and the Dow Jones was up 0.9% before the start of trading.

Asian exchanges traded mixed overnight on pandemic outlooks, while European bourses tracked higher midday on the continent.

Heliogen HHLGN and Gilat Satellite GILT plan to report earnings pre-bell, among others.

On the thin economic calendar is the Chicago Fed National Activity Index for April at 8:30 am ET.

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Raphael Bostic speaks at noon.

In pre-market action, bitcoin traded at $30,408, West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded higher at $111.37, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 2.83%. Gold traded for $1,861 an ounce.
