Trend Stripes MTF

665
Trend Stripes MTF NR is a multi-timeframe trend filter designed for scalping and directional trading.

The indicator displays market direction as simple colored stripes in a separate panel:
- Aqua = bullish trend
- Orange = bearish trend

The trend is calculated using two EMAs (Fast EMA and Slow EMA) with optional filters:
- Slow EMA slope filter
- ATR distance filter
- Confirmed higher-timeframe values

The main idea behind this tool is combining lower-timeframe execution with higher-timeframe direction.

For example:
You can trade on the 1-minute chart while displaying the trend from the 15-minute timeframe.

This helps avoid trading against the larger market structure and keeps entries aligned with the dominant trend.

One practical setup I personally use for gold scalping:

Higher timeframe trend filter:
- 15-minute timeframe
- EMA 20 / 50

Lower timeframe execution:
- 1-minute timeframe
- EMA 8 / 13

A simple approach is using two Trend Stripes indicators at the same time:

First indicator:
- 1-minute trend
- EMA 8 / 13

Second indicator:
- 15-minute trend
- EMA 20 / 50

Trades are taken only when both indicators show the same direction:
- Aqua + Aqua = long setups only
- Orange + Orange = short setups only

This approach helps filter out many weak counter-trend entries and works especially well for XAUUSD scalping.

The ATR filter helps reduce noise during flat conditions by requiring a minimum distance between EMAs.

The slope filter checks whether the slow EMA is actually moving in the trend direction, which can reduce false flips during consolidation.

Trading With Trend Alignment Instead of Prediction

This indicator is not a standalone strategy.
It is designed to work together with price action, liquidity sweeps, support/resistance levels, diagonal structures, or your own entry model.
