Brunei Consumer Prices Drop the Least in 3 Months

Consumer prices in Brunei fell 0.2% year-on-year in July 2025, easing from a 0.6% drop in the previous month and marking the smallest decline since April.

Costs continued to contract for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.4% vs -0.1% in June), housing and utilities (-0.1% vs -0.1%), transport (-0.2% vs -0.7%), communication (-0.3% vs -0.3%), recreation and culture (-2.3% vs -2.3%), and miscellaneous goods and services (-0.2% vs -0.1%).

Meanwhile, inflation held steady for health (1.0%) and furnishings and household maintenance (0.1%), while quickening for restaurants and hotels (0.3% vs 0.2%) and education (0.3% vs 0.2%).

Notably, clothing and footwear prices rebounded (2.5% vs -5.4%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.2%, extending a 0.03% dip in June and marking the third straight month of declines.
