Awesome Oscillator (AO) is a momentum indicator developed by Bill Williams that helps identify trend strength and possible reversals. It measures the difference between a 5-period and 34-period simple moving average, both calculated on the median price (high + low) / 2.
The histogram fluctuates above and below the zero line:

Below zero indicates bearish momentum
