Half Cup [LuxAlgo]The Half Cup indicator detects and displays patterns with the shape of a Half Cup , initiating a channel. From this channel, breakouts are detected and highlighted with dots. Users can control the shape of the Half Cup and the channel length through various settings. Do note that the displayed half cups are displayed retrospectively, making them subject to backpainting. 🔶 USAGE The idea behind the indicator is derived from the Cup & Handle pattern, which requires waiting for the pattern full completion. Our Half Cup publication aims to find opportunities when the potential cup is only formed halfway. In this example, a green dot shows the first breakout of the upper channel extremity. A few bars later, the price went under it, after which it returned above, triggering a second green dot. Both triggers were good opportunities in this case, and the price rose afterward. The Half Cup pattern can be the start of a potential complete Cup & Handle (As in the example above, a complete Cup pattern (without the Handle ) is shown, manually drawn with dashed lines). Every green/red dot, whether on a bullish or bearish pattern, points to a breakout respectively above/below the channel. Besides drawing patterns and the corresponding breakouts, the Half Cup indicator can also provide insights into trends and potential opportunities in the long run. 🔶 DETAILS 🔹 Validation Several criteria must be fulfilled before a visible pattern on the chart is drawn. Calculations are done beforehand to know where the Half Cup pattern would be positioned. The pattern's bottom and top edges are checked for the number of bars whose closing price is outside the half-cup area. When the number of breakouts above/below is equal to or lower than the user-defined settings ( Max % Breaks Top/Bottom ), the pattern is drawn together with a brighter-colored channel next to it. Dots highlighting the channel's breakout can be drawn from that moment until the end of both channel lines. 🔹 Positioning Users can adjust the following settings to fit their needs: % Broadness: Moves the Top/Bottom line (bullish or bearish) diagonally upwards/downwards. Vertical Shift: Shifts the entire pattern up/down. Channel Length: Sets the line length of the channel. Note that adjusting the position of the pattern will change the validation; the script will be rerun to check if patterns are still valid or if new patterns can be drawn. Some patterns may disappear, while new ones may appear. Before adjusting the position, the user can set Max % Breaks Top/Bottom at 100%. When the positioning is set, Max % Breaks Top/Bottom can be set as desired. 🔹 Updated Drawings The Half Cup pattern is always drawn retrospectively (that is it is subject to backpainting), the channel is drawn from the bar from where the pattern is detected. Every breakout of the channel will remain visible as dots. When a new swing high/low is found while the previous swing low/high remains the same, the pattern is updated to minimize clutter. The dots of earlier drawings will remain visible (to ensure no repainting occurs), but the color becomes faded, as such bright dots are associated with patterns that are visible on the chart, while faded dots are from removed/updated patterns. 🔶 SETTINGS Swing Length: Period used for the swing detection, with higher values returning longer-term Swing Levels. 🔹 Validation Max % Breaks Bottom: Allowed maximum amount of bars where the closing price is below the bottom of the Half Cup pattern against the total width of the pattern (bars). Max % Breaks Top: Allowed maximum amount of bars where the closing price is above the top of the Half Cup pattern against the total width of the pattern (bars). 🔹 Positioning % Broadness: Moves the Top/Bottom line (bullish or bearish) diagonally upwards/downwards. Marubozu Signals This Pine Script code is designed to identify and plot Marubozu candlestick patterns on a trading chart. Marubozu candles are characterized by having very small or non-existent wicks (shadows) and a large body, indicating strong buying or selling pressure. The script first calculates the body size and wick size for both red (bearish) and green (bullish) Marubozu candles. It then defines thresholds for both body and wick sizes based on a percentage of the body size. For example, a red Marubozu candle is identified if its body size is at least 90% of the calculated threshold, and both upper and lower wick sizes are smaller than 5% of the body size. Similarly, green Marubozu candles are identified using the same logic. If a Marubozu candle of either color is detected, a corresponding label is plotted on the chart indicating the occurrence of the pattern. Color Agreement Aggregate (CAA)This indicator helps finding patterns within market structure in a highly intuitive manner. It does this by painting a picture instead of presenting numerical values. It greatly reduces noise in trend/structure analysis. ----- HOW TO USE IT ----- 1) Zoom out of chart to get a clearer picture of overall color patterns. 2) Consider areas of intense reds and greens as areas of interest. 3) There is always a pattern of intense reds followed by intense greens. Consider this pattern as the start of a new cycle. 4) Key spikes and dips are shown when all 3 bands are matching of intense colors. 5) Turn on Precision in the Style tab to get more information on decisive spikes in price (See "Precision" below). Reach (top band): This is the fast and more volatile movement of the market. It shows the direction in which the recent price action is reaching towards. Energy (middle band): This is the medium speed of market movement. It shows the energy of the Reach and how influential it is to market change. Frequent and intense change of color in this band can be a precursor of change within the Basis. Basis (bottom band): This is the slower, broader movement of the market. It is the basis on which the Reach and Energy sit on. Intense colors in this band show major changes in price levels and market structure. Precision: Precision shows the weaker levels of colors. It does this by making bars in a band half its size. For example, if there is a light green bar that is half, it means that the current bar is on the weaker level of the light green level. Precision helps in identifying where there are influential moves in price action. Note, there will never be a half-sized bar in the highest and lowest levels. This is because these levels are the limits and don't have a weaker half. See notes in chart for more information. Note, you can turn off the labels in the Style tab. ----- HOW THIS INDICATOR IS ORIGINAL; WHAT IT DOES AND HOW IT DOES IT ----- This indicator has an original, unique ability to paint the overall market structure in a highly intuitive manner. It "paints" an image instead of showing numbers. It does this by color-coding different levels of varying speeds of market movement. It then presents these levels as simple bars. Finally, it stacks them all and creates an overall image of clear breaks and/or repeats within market structure. This greatly reduces noise in pattern finding, finding breaks in market structure, and in confirming repeated patterns. ----- VERSION ----- The only significant information from this indicator are the colors themselves and the patterns, agreement, and aggregate of the colors. This indicator does not provide any numerical information of the underlying, mathematical calculations. The levels for the Reach are made by the KPAM; for the Energy, the CCI; and for the Basis, the RSI. However, this indicator is not a variant, replacement, or presentation of the KPAM, CCI, or the RSI in any way, shape, or form -- this indicator does not present itself as such. The 3 indicators are only useful to this indicator in as much as they are what the colors are derived from -- nothing more. They are needed in order to obtain, visualize, and create the overall aggregate and agreement of colors. Thus, the KPAM, CCI, and RSI cannot be adjust nor are they plotted.
