Discover market movers with TradingView hotlists

Markets change all the time, that's why timely information is everything. It's true for day traders looking for momentum as well as for long-term investors seeking unusual activity. No matter what your approach is, TradingView has a way to support your strategies — our hotlists can help you identify market leaders and stay ahead of key movements. Let's dive into how to make the most of this tool.

What are hotlists

Hotlists are dynamic lists of stocks that are experiencing significant changes — consider them watchlists curated to help you watch market movers. These stock collections are based on the following key data:

  • Volume: Track assets with unusually high activity
  • Percent change: Find the biggest winners and losers by percentage
  • Percent range: Identify assets with the largest trading range for the day
  • Gap: Spot stocks that open significantly higher or lower than the previous close

Each list is updated in real time to reflect shifts in market conditions and help traders instantly see which symbols are dominating the action.

With hotlists you can save time and focus on market movers across the world without having to manually pick stocks that might or might not influence markets.

Hotlists allow you to:

  • Stay informed about key market shifts in real time
  • React faster to unusual activity and potential breakouts
  • Discover hidden opportunities before they appear in global news
  • Build more effective watchlists based on what's actually moving today

Whether you're refining a strategy or just want to stay on top of the action, hotlists can become a powerful tool in your trader's toolkit.

How to access hotlists

You can access hotlists directly from the Watchlist menu in the right toolbar. Simply click on your watchlist name and find the "Open list…" option.

Or press "Shift + W" to bring up the hotlist dialog.

From here, select the list that suits your strategy:

  • Volume gainers
  • Percent change gainers/losers
  • Percent range gainers/losers
  • Gap gainers/losers
  • Percent gap gainers/losers

Country and exchange filters allow you to narrow your focus to a specific region or market. For example, you can:

  • See the hotlist for all exchanges in the U.S.
  • Focus on a single market, like the NASDAQ or Tokyo Stock Exchange
  • Analyze emerging markets by selecting hotlists from smaller national exchanges

With these filters, you can find the perfect list to stay relevant to the local market's trading hours and regional news.

From the hotlist section, you can also add a hotlist to your favorites for quick access later and duplicate it to create a custom version.

If you want to access all the features of TradingView watchlists, copy the hotlist and use it as a template for your own watchlist.

The bottom line

In the chaos of global markets, TradingView's hotlists offer clarity by highlighting what matters right now. They help you cut through the noise and focus on real opportunities. When copied, they offer the full functionality of our watchlists, which you can use to further customize the lists and tailor them to your strategy.
