Does Ethereum, Ripple and Litcoin follow Bitcoin?

Bitcoin / U.S. dollarBitstamp

Huraian

Hello traders,

This is a simple education post to compare Ethereum, Ripple and Litecoin to Bitcoin.

Summary:
- Ethereum is the most currency that follows Bitcoin, however it failed to make any new highs while bitcoin keeps doing so.
- Ripple is the most currency that doesn't care about Bitcoin price movement
- Litcoin seems to be the most mature and stable currency

This concludes that if Bitcoin surges by 10% it doesn't really mean that the other coins will follow and vice versa.

Hope this helps!

Have a great weekend,

This is what can be generalized :
Btc rises dramatic, alts fall
Btc stabilizes, alts rises
Btc falls dramatic, alts fall

@abid1986, Right, I've been trading cryptos for over a year now and that's also exactly what I've noticed. ;)

@abid1986, Maybe not now, can be different... No new money is in play... BTC have 60% of the market, all money from altcoins... after the fork, the old money will come back and all altcoins will have their positions (or better) back!

Hello : )
Good thing to look at - think you for sharing.
Is it not possible that to some extent we have buyers 'crossing over' from the Altcoins back into Bitcoin for the ride? The latest Bitcoin Boost has gobbled up over US$ 15 Billion & I suspect quite a bit of that could be from people in the crypto market who just bought BTC with their Altcoins. It will be interesting to see what happens when BTC corrects to less hyped, more stable levels ... how much of BTC then flows back into the alt coin market and shifts the current low energy there... After all the pond is growing, but it's not that large yet.

Apologies - I tried to post a screen grab of the 7-day AltCoin charts from CoinGecko ..... they generally take a dip around the 16th - as Bitcoin starts to build for the rise.
