We are now looking at potential buying opportunities in the US Dollar playing the risk aversion theme on a short-medium term basis. Bids should remain supported by flows out of Asia into safe haven bets driving demand for similar markets such as Gold and Yen.
Our view
- Bids to remain supported amidst risk aversion as flow shifts to safe haven markets.
- Buying conviction can be seen through the 200DMA and corrective wedge break. Buyside floor has been created in a meaningful zone now looking to test highs and 27.2% extension. We will re assess this trade at 100.00.
We have added buyside exposure across both our macro and directional portfolios in response to the recent outbreak and will monitor updates closely. This play aligns closely with our long Gold, long Yen, short Asia mkts theme across each of our portfolios.
