Brexit and it's effect on the British Pound

63
This chart represents the direct effect on the value of the British pound by key political decisions by Government and votes cast in the EU referendum of 2015.

After the Subprime mortgage crisis of 2007 the pound moved to almost parity with the Euro at €1.02 on the 29th Dec. 2008, however over the next seven to eight years it recovered in value to approximately €1.43. Then, from the date of the European Union Referendum Act 2015, the pound started it's decline to settle in the range of between €1.07 to €1.17 a drop of between 17% and 25%

As of July 2023 the pound has been unable to recover, it's currently setting up for another move, however the catalyst for that could be a myriad of things, and the direction of the move is anyone's guess!
Nota
Just before the referendum in June 2016 the pound had dropped to around €1.26, however after the leave vote won, by October of that year the pound had moved lower to €1.08.
