The settlement agreement between Equinix and EQIX investors has been finalised and is now up for final court approval.

What is this settlement?

On March 20, 2024, Hindenburg Research released a report alleging that Equinix overstated its Adjusted Funds From Operations (AFFO) by at least 22% in 2023. The report also highlighted misleading AI-related claims, core business underperformance, and internal control issues. Following the report, EQIX dropped 2.3%, erasing over $1.86 billion in shareholder value.

Shareholders filed a class action lawsuit on May 2, 2024, and Equinix has agreed to settle the case.
