On January 16, 2025, $PNUT shareholders filed a class action against Baton Corporation, accusing it of promoting the PNUT Token as an unregistered security.

Launched on October 31, 2024, via its Pump.Fun platform, the token was marketed as an investment product without proper disclosures or regulatory compliance. Despite appearances of decentralization, Baton allegedly managed listings, tokenomics, and promotions centrally.
