BP appoints former Shell CFO to its board

BP BP. on Monday appointed Simon Henry, former finance chief of Shell SHEL, to its board as a non-executive director effective September 1.

Henry, who worked at Shell for over three decades, was its chief financial officer between 2009 and 2017 and is currently a non-executive director at Rio Tinto RIO, from where he will step down in the second half of the year.

Under Henry's watch as Shell CFO, the oil giant acquired BG Group in a $54 billion deal, making it one of the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) traders.

Pamela Daley, non-executive director, will step down from the BP board for personal reasons effective immediately, the British firm added.
