China will support more onshore investors to invest in offshore bonds via 'Bond Connect'

China will support more onshore investors to invest in offshore bonds and expand the 'Bond Connect' scheme to include non-banking institutions, an official at the People's Bank of China said in Hong Kong on Tuesday.

"The Southbound and Northbound Connect will be improved and help investors go abroad through the connection scheme," Huifen Jiang, a senior PBOC official, said at the programme's anniversary ceremony.
