(The Insurer) - Globe Underwriting has launched a professional indemnity (PI) insurance proposition as part of a broader push into financial lines, the MGA said on Tuesday.

The UK-based firm has appointed Paul Nolan as head of financial lines and Kiran Wignall as underwriting manager for PI. Both previously worked at Probitas Syndicate 1492, where Nolan led financial lines and Wignall was head of PI.

Nolan will lead Globe's underwriting strategy and portfolio management across financial lines, with the firm also set to develop offerings for management liability and financial institutions.

While at Probitas, Nolan built a diversified financial lines book with combined gross written premiums of around 80 million pounds ($108 million). His experience also includes senior roles at AIG and Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS).

Wignall will be responsible for the growth and profitability of the MGA’s new PI book. Before Probitas, he also held underwriting roles at AGCS and Hiscox.

Other recent entrants to the PI market include Cowbell in April and Mosaic and Beazley last year.
