Argentina Industrial Output Expansion Eases in May
Argentina's industrial production rose 5.8% year-on-year in May 2025, easing from the 8.5% increase in April but marking the sixth straight month of growth.
Thirteen out of sixteen manufacturing divisions saw annual gains.
The largest positive contributions came from basic metals (15.9%), motor vehicles and auto parts (20.9%), furniture and other manufacturing (31.8%), and wood, paper, and printing (13.6%).
Other notable increases included non-metallic minerals (16.7%), machinery and equipment (9.5%), rubber and plastics (9.6%), and food and beverages (2.3%).
On the downside, declines were observed in metal products (-14.6%), petroleum refining and nuclear fuel (-10.1%), and clothing, leather, and footwear (-5.4%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output rose 2.2%, maintaining the same pace as in April.
