Statistically detects real volume spikes using Z-Score analysis, with a session-aware filter that ignores the expected 9:30 AM opening burst.
🔹 **What It Does**
- Colors spike candles directly - your chart stays clean and neutral until a spike occurs
- Uses Z-Score (standard deviation) to adapt to each instrument's natural volume profile
- Two tiers: Spike and Major. Major spikes get a small "Nx" label showing volume relative to average
- Compact 3-row stats table with current volume ratio, Z-Score, and status
🔹 **What Makes This Different**
**Session-Aware Detection.** Every volume spike indicator on TradingView lights up at 9:30 AM because the market open always has high volume — that's expected, not a signal. This indicator has a configurable "opening burst" filter that suppresses the first N minutes after session open. You only see spikes that are actually unusual for the current session — not the ones every trader already expects.
The design is intentionally minimal. Normal candles are neutral gray. Only spike candles get color. No background shading, no giant labels, no chart clutter. The signal is the candle itself.

- **Neutral gray candles** — Normal volume. Nothing to see.
- **Colored candle (subtle)** — Volume spike. Statistically above average.
- **Colored candle (bright) + "Nx" label** — Major spike. Something worth paying attention to.
- **Table shows "OPEN"** — Currently in the opening burst window. Spikes suppressed.

- Spike Threshold (2.0) — Z-Score minimum for detection
- Major Spike Multiplier (1.5) — multiplied by threshold for Major tier

- Ignore First N Minutes (5) — opening burst window
- Session Open (930) — configurable for any market
