🔵 Core Logic: The Ultra Band
At the heart of this indicator is the Ultra Band — a double-smoothed Heikin Ashi high–low envelope that acts as the "wave" we wait for. It’s enabled by default and triggers a LONG or SHORT signal only when a full candle closes completely outside the band. This filters out noise and avoids premature entries, helping you detect real momentum shifts with clarity. Especially effective on fast-moving assets and lower timeframes, the Ultra Band is the foundation of Heikin Rider.

Heikin Rider includes several optional tools for added confirmation and customizability:
🎨 Flow Coloring
The indicator also includes Flow-based bar coloring, which visualizes potential reversals before they happen. This system uses a custom formula to detect pressure imbalances and highlights bars accordingly — blue tones for rising strength, red for falling pressure, and neutral tones when momentum is unclear. This feature is fully optional and customizable.
🕒 Multi-Timeframe SHA Average, combining smoothed SHA values from three timeframes
📏 200-period Moving Average Overlay for long-term trend direction
🧭 Two Higher-Timeframe SHA Candle Overlays for broader market structure
All modules can be toggled on or off and configured independently to match your trading style.
✅ Non-Repainting & Reliable
All signals are confirmed after candle close and use persistent logic to ensure they do not repaint. Once a signal appears, it stays — making Heikin Rider suitable for both live trading and backtesting.
📈 Optimized Setup
The default configuration is optimized for the 5-minute timeframe and performs especially well on Gold (XAUUSD). Use it as a standalone entry tool or combine it with your system for added confirmation.
🧩 Works with Heikin Flow Indicator
For deeper insight into underlying trend energy and momentum buildup, the separate Heikin Flow indicator can be used alongside Heikin Rider. It’s designed to complement this script as a natural add-on.
