Adaptive Zero Lag EMA v2This is my most successful strategy to date! Please enjoy and join the Open Source movement by sharing your code and ideas online!
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
The strategy is based on Ehlers idea that any indicator can be turned into a signal-producing trade system through smoothing and other filtering processes.
In fact, I'm using his Zero Lag EMA (ZLEMA) as a baseline indicator as well as some code snippets he has made public (1). God bless open source!
Next, I've provided the option to use an Instantaneous Frequency Measurement (IFM) method, which will adaptively choose the best period for the ZLEMA (2)
I've written other studies that use the differential calculus approximations for IFM, so it was only natural to include them in this strategy.
The primary two are Cosine IFM (3) and In-phase Quadrature IFM (4). You can also find an indicator with both plotted and the ability to average them together, as one IFM prefers long periods and the other short. (5)
BEFORE WE BEGIN
1. This strategy only runs on "normal" FX pairs (EURUSD, GBPJPY, AUDUSD ...) and will fail on Metals or Commodities.
Cryptos are largely untested.
2. Please run it on these time frames: M15 to D.
Anything outside this range will likely fail.
HOW TO USE AND SUCCEED
1. If the Default settings don't produce good results right off the bat, then lower gain limit to 1 or 2 and threshold to 0.01.
2. Test each setting under adaptive method . If you want to leave it Off , then I'd recommend using some kind of IFM (see my links below) to
discover the most efficient period to use.
3. Once you have the best adaptive method chosen, begin incrementing gain limit until you find a nice balance between profit factor (PF) and drawdown.
4. Now, begin incrementing threshold . The goal is to have PF above 2 and a drawdown as low as possible.
5. Finally, change the source ! Typically, close is the best option, but I have run into cases where high
yielded the highest returns and win rate.
6. Sit back, relax, and tweak the risk until you're happy with the return and drawdown amounts.
ADVANCED
You may need to adjust take profit (TP) points and stop loss (SL) points to create the best entry possible. Don't be greedy! You'll likely have poor
results if the TP is set to 300 and SL is 50.
If you are trading a pair that has a long Dominant Cycle Period , then you may increase Max Period to allow the IFM
to accept longer periods. Any period above the Max Period will be rejected. This may increase lag time!
Cheers and good luck trading!
-DasanC
PS - This code doesn't repaint or have future-leak, which was present in Pinescript v2.
PPS - Believe me! These returns are typical! Sometimes you must push aside the "if it's too good to be true..." mindset that society has ingrained in you.
Do you really believe the most successful pass up opportunities before investigating them? ;)

Adaptive Zero Lag EMA Strategy [Ehlers + Ric]Behold! A strategy that makes use of Ehlers research into the field of signal processing and wins so consistently, on multiple time frames AND on multiple currency pairs.
The Adaptive Zero Lag EMA (AZLEMA) is based on an informative report by Ehlers and Ric .
I've modified it by using Cosine IFM, a method by Ehlers on determining the dominant cycle period without using fast-Fourier transforms
Instead, we use some basic differential equations that are simplified to approximate the cycle period over a 100 bar sample size.
The settings for this strategy allow you to scalp or swing trade! High versatility!
Since this strategy is frequency based, you can run it on any timeframe (M1 is untested) and even have the option of using adaptive settings for a best-fit.
>Settings
Source : Choose the value for calculations (close, open, high + low / 2, etc...)
Period : Choose the dominant cycle for the ZLEMA (typically under 100)
Adaptive? : Allow the strategy to continuously update the Period for you (disables Period setting)
Gain Limit : Higher = faster response. Lower = smoother response. See for more information.
Threshold : Provides a bit more control over entering a trade. Lower = less selective. Higher = More selective. (range from 0 to 1)
SL Points : Stop Poss level in points (10 points = 1 pip)
TP Points : Take Profit level in points
Risk : Percent of current balance to risk on each trade (0.01 = 1%)

[New series!] [Consistent Losing Strategies] 34 EMA Scalping//---------------------------INTRO------------------------------
Hi All!
Let me introduce myself as a semi-successful forex trader & lover of automation.
I've taken to algo trading and have been hunting down strategies (that usually use indicators) to automate, backtest, and hopefully implement in MT4.
Unfortunately, most strategies are complete bulls*** and the select cases that are shown to "prove" success are limited.
These strategy sources often do not provide useful analytics either.
I want to change that approach to trading! We can really benefit each other and the community by being methodical about backtesting
as well as evaluating our results with some kind of scoring heuristic.
As for what that standardized process looks like..well I'm still working on it.
I'm pretty much on Tv for multiple hours of the day, screening strategies via Pinescript and I'd like to start sharing my progress!
This is a new series I'd like to start on consistently losing strategies. I'll make all the code public, so if you think I've made a blunder
or approached a problem the wrong way, then drop me a DM or paste your fix into the comments.
//---------------------------STRAT------------------------------
34 EMA Scalping strategy (ref. forextradingstrategies4u )
How you're supposed to trade it:
BUY:
1. Market is in an down trend as shown by the 34 EMA
2. Price breaks above a downwards trend line
3. Price breaks above the 34 EMA
4. Look for a very bullish candlestick or chart pattern
SELL:
1. Look for the 34 EMA to show we are in an uptrend
2. Price breaks below an upwards sloping trend line
3. Price breaks below 34 EMA
4. Look for a bearish candlestick or a chart pattern
//---------------------------CONC------------------------------
Q: Why does it fail?
A: I believe this strategy relies too much on subjective input (aka, trendlines).
Q: Why does it fail as an algo?
A: The 34 EMA is no more predictive than any other EMA, although it does a good job at filtering out noise.
Q: Should I try it out?
A: No, it's trash. This is the proof that it is trash.

Dhananjay Volatility stop strategy v1.0
Sharing one more strategy after getting good feedback on my earlier published strategy.
This is simple volatility stop strategy where in we are using VStop as entry and exit point.
Again smart traders can add MA to decide the trend and can avoid trading in opposite direction of trend which will help them to minimize loss making trades.
There are more than 1 parameters which traders can use/change to make this strategy compatible to their instrument.
To understand what is VStop use google.com :-)
Looking forward to receiving feedback from all of you.
Forex MA Racer - SMA Performance /w ZeroLag EMA TriggerThis strategy uses 5 Simple Moving Averages and 2 ZeroLag Exponential Moving Averages, to determine possible entries and exits.
- Pretuned for Forex on 15m period
- Uses SMA(10/20/50/100/200) and EMA(9/21) by default
- Be cautios in sideward markets!
Default Strategy Inputs (Forex / Crypto)The code in this post contains a set of default strategy inputs I use in new projects / backtests in Tradingview.
Full code commentary is available on the Backtest-Rookies website. To comply with house rules, I cannot post the direct link here.
Features
Trade Direction: So that you can limit the strategy for long only, short only or trade in both directions. It is important to note that when you select “Long Only”, you will still see Short signals on the chart. However, they are only used to close a position rather than reverse it. This is the default behaviour for strategies. The same applies to “Short Only”.
Date Ranges: So that you can isolate backtesting to specific periods of interest such as bull or bear markets.
Sessions: So you can easily get an idea of the expected results during your own session. You may also notice that performance of the strategy varies depending on which session it is deployed in.
Some example stop losses: It is not an exhaustive list but it should be enough to provide some inspiration for different types of stops that you can experiment with.
Happy Scripting. I hope the community finds it useful.
Cowabunga System from babypips.comPlease do read the information below as well, especially if you are new to Forex.
The Cowabunga System is a type of Mechanical Trading System that filters trades based on the trend of the 4 hour chart with EMAs and some other familiar indicators (RSI, Stochastics and MACD) while entering trades base on 15 minute chart.
I have coded (quite amateurishly) the basic system onto a 15 minute chart (the 4 hour settings are coded as well). The author says the system is to be traded off the 15 minute chart with the 4 hour chart only as a reference for trend direction.
4 Hour Chart Settings
5 EMA
10 EMA
Stochastics (10,3,3)
RSI (9)
Then we move onto the 15 minute chart, where he gives us the trade entry rules.
15 Minute Chart Settings
5 EMA
10 EMA
Stochastics (10,3,3)
RSI (9)
MACD (12,26,9)
Entry Rules - long entry rules used, obviously reverse these for shorting.
1. EMA must cross above the 10 EMA.
2. RSI must be greater than 50 and not overbought.
3. Stochastic must be headed up and not be in overbought territory.
4. MACD histogram must go from negative to positive OR be negative and start to increase in value.
What I did.
1. Set the RSI and Stochastic levels to avoid entries when they indicate overbought conditions for long and oversold conditions for short (80 and 20 levels).
2. Users can input specific times they want to backtest.
3. User's can configure profit targets, trailing stops and stops. Default is set it to was 100 pips profit target with a 40 pip trailing stop. (Note, when you are changing these values, please note that each pip is worth 10, so 100 pips is entered as 1000.)
The Cowabunga System from babypips.com is another popular and active system. The author, Pip Surfer, continues to post wins and losses with this system. It shows there is a lot of honesty and integrity with this system if the author keeps up to date even 10 years later and is not afraid of sharing the times the system causes losses.
As an example of this, here is post he shared just last week . It's almost like a journal, he gives specific times and reasons why he entered, lets the readers know when he was stopped out, etc. I think that what he does is equally important as his system.
To read more about this system, visit the thread on babypips.com, click here.
How to automate this strategy for free... Version 2Hello fellow traders and automation lovers.
It has been about 2 years since we originally created Autoview to connect your exchanges/brokers with your TradingView alerts. We've since added multiple exchanges, parameters and have built a large community filled with awesome, passionate traders.
One of the first strategies we built was sadly not a viable one for trading due to it using built-in variables that resulted in the backtest results being inaccurate in comparison to placing live trades. Luckily, we did not encounter repainting until a few strategies in, however, there was a point where we published a few of them as well. We will be going through all of our scripts again to not only eliminate any repainting and update to version 3, but to also include all the code snippets that we've learned to use over the years that allow for accurate backtesting and live trading.
The first script we are redoing is our How to automate this strategy for free using a chrome extension. .
Easter egg: This includes a new snippet of code that makes controlling how many orders you pyramid within a study fast and easy.
We look forward to bringing all of our scripts and delving deep into Pine again :)
Happy Trading

HL2 - 22 EMA Cross for RenkoEURUSD
This is a simple strategy to use for those who like Renko bars. I ONLY use it on Renko.
Basic idea is that when the Renko bar closes above or below the 22 EMA, you go long or short.
However, some of the frustrations I've had with any strategy shared in Tradingview is so few folks put in the ability to set a stop or a profit target or the ability to set a specific time to trade. I have added those to this strategy. (And I for the life of me can not remember where I got the code for the the time, I need to find you!).
Special note: If you have never used the Renko bars in Tradingview, make sure you click the Format option next to whatever pair you are looking at and change it from Traditional to ATR. You can set it for a static pip amount if you want. But ATR at first will help you decide which amount of pips you should throw in.
This is my first published strategy so if I screwed up on anything or didn't explain it very well, please let me know!!
GMAE Original (By Kevin Manrrique)This script is called GMAE Original by me (Kevin Manrrique). I'm publishing this to the public because we are all traders and we need to support each other as a TVcommunity. This is something I built for fun. This script uses a series of EMA's. NO REPAINT, NO LAGGING! It works better for short-term trends as you can see. Please leave the copyright on the script at all times even if you rebuild it. If you need any help or have questions please inbox me privately. If you interested in joining up and building an indicator or strategy please inbox me as well. Thank you and I hope you enjoy this script as much as I do.
Remember there are no holy grails. The only holy grail there is are indicators built together to stop faulty signals and be as accurate as possible and this is one of them.
Sincerely,
Kevin Manrrique
Forex Master v4.0 (EUR/USD Mean-Reversion Algorithm)DESCRIPTION
Forex Master v4.0 is a mean-reversion algorithm currently optimized for trading the EUR/USD pair on the 5M chart interval. All indicator inputs use the period's closing price and all trades are executed at the open of the period following the period where the trade signal was generated.
There are 3 main components that make up Forex Master v4.0:
I. Trend Filter
The algorithm uses a version of the ADX indicator as a trend filter to trade only in certain time periods where price is more likely to be range-bound (i.e., mean-reverting). This indicator is composed of a Fast ADX and a Slow ADX, both using the same look-back period of 50. However, the Fast ADX is smoothed with a 6-period EMA and the Slow ADX is smoothed with a 12-period EMA. When the Fast ADX is above the Slow ADX, the algorithm does not trade because this indicates that price is likelier to trend, which is bad for a mean-reversion system. Conversely, when the Fast ADX is below the Slow ADX, price is likelier to be ranging so this is the only time when the algorithm is allowed to trade.
II. Bollinger Bands
When allowed to trade by the Trend Filter, the algorithm uses the Bollinger Bands indicator to enter long and short positions. The Bolliger Bands indicator has a look-back period of 20 and a standard deviation of 1.5 for both upper and lower bands. When price crosses over the lower band, a Long Signal is generated and a long position is entered. When price crosses under the upper band, a Short Signal is generated and a short position is entered.
III. Money Management
Rule 1 - Each trade will use a limit order for a fixed quantity of 50,000 contracts (0.50 lot). The only exception is Rule
Rule 2 - Order pyramiding is enabled and up to 10 consecutive orders of the same signal can be executed (for example: 14 consecutive Long Signals are generated over 8 hours and the algorithm sends in 10 different buy orders at various prices for a total of 350,000 contracts).
Rule 3 - Every order will include a bracket with both TP and SL set at 50 pips (note: the algorithm only closes the current open position and does not enter the opposite trade once a TP or SL has been hit).
Rule 4 - When a new opposite trade signal is generated, the algorithm sends in a larger order to close the current open position as well as open a new one (for example: 14 consecutive Long Signals are generated over 8 hours and the algorithm sends in 10 different buy orders at various prices for a total of 350,000 contracts. A Short Signal is generated shortly after the 14th Long Signal. The algorithm then sends in a sell order for 400,000 contracts to close the 350,000 contracts long position and open a new short position of 50,000 contracts).
