ADX Supertrend | [DeV]The "ADX Supertrend" indicator is a user-friendly tool that blends two popular trading indicators—the Supertrend and the Average Directional Index (ADX)—to help traders spot trends and make smarter trading decisions. By combining these two, it offers a clearer picture of when a market is trending strongly and in which direction, while cutting down on misleading signals. Here’s a straightforward explanation of how each part works, how they team up, the benefits of using them together, and why the ADX makes the Supertrend even better.
Supertrend:
It's like a guide that follows the market’s price movements to tell you whether prices are trending up or down. It creates two lines, one above and one below the price, based on how much the market is bouncing around (its volatility). When the price moves above the upper line, it signals an uptrend (a good time to buy), and the indicator draws a line below the price to show support. When the price drops below the lower line, it signals a downtrend (a potential time to sell), and the line appears above the price as resistance. The Supertrend is great because it adjusts to market conditions, widening the gap between lines in wild markets and tightening it in calm ones.
Average Directional Index:
The ADX is all about measuring how strong a trend is, without caring whether it’s going up or down. Think of it as a meter that tells you if the market is charging forward with purpose or just drifting aimlessly. It uses a scale from 0 to 100, where higher numbers mean a stronger trend. For example, an ADX above 25 often suggests a solid trend worth paying attention to, while a low ADX signals a sleepy, sideways market. The ADX also looks at whether buyers or sellers are in control to confirm the trend’s direction.
Confluence:
The Supertrend is great at spotting trends, but it can be a bit trigger-happy, giving signals in markets that aren’t really trending. That’s where the ADX shines. It acts like a quality control check, making sure the Supertrend’s signals only count when the market is moving with conviction. By filtering out weak or messy trends, the ADX helps you avoid wasting time on trades that fizzle out. It also double-checks the trend’s direction, so you’re not just guessing whether buyers or sellers are in charge. This teamwork means you get signals that are more reliable and less likely to lead you astray, especially in tricky markets where prices bounce around without a clear path.
Kalman Hull Supertrend [BackQuant]Kalman Hull Supertrend
At its core, this indicator uses a Kalman filter of price, put inside of a hull moving average function (replacing the weighted moving averages) and then using that as a price source for the supertrend instead of the normal hl2 (high+low/2).
Therefore, making it more adaptive to price and also sensitive to recent price action.
PLEASE Read the following, knowing what an indicator does at its core before adding it into a system is pivotal. The core concepts can allow you to include it in a logical and sound manner.
1. What is a Kalman Filter
The Kalman Filter is an algorithm renowned for its efficiency in estimating the states of a linear dynamic system amidst noisy data. It excels in real-time data processing, making it indispensable in fields requiring precise and adaptive filtering, such as aerospace, robotics, and financial market analysis. By leveraging its predictive capabilities, traders can significantly enhance their market analysis, particularly in estimating price movements more accurately.
If you would like this on its own, with a more in-depth description please see our Kalman Price Filter.
2. Hull Moving Average (HMA) and Its Core Calculation
The Hull Moving Average (HMA) improves on traditional moving averages by combining the Weighted Moving Average's (WMA) smoothness and reduced lag. Its core calculation involves taking the WMA of the data set and doubling it, then subtracting the WMA of the full period, followed by applying another WMA on the result over the square root of the period's length. This methodology yields a smoother and more responsive moving average, particularly useful for identifying market trends more rapidly.
3. Combining Kalman Filter with HMA
The innovative combination of the Kalman Filter with the Hull Moving Average (KHMA) offers a unique approach to smoothing price data. By applying the Kalman Filter to the price source before its incorporation into the HMA formula, we enhance the adaptiveness and responsiveness of the moving average. This adaptive smoothing method reduces noise more effectively and adjusts more swiftly to price changes, providing traders with clearer signals for market entries or exits.
The calculation is like so:
KHMA(_src, _length) =>
f_kalman(2 * f_kalman(_src, _length / 2) - f_kalman(_src, _length), math.round(math.sqrt(_length)))
4. Integration with Supertrend
Incorporating this adaptive price smoothing technique into the Supertrend indicator further enhances its efficiency. The Supertrend, known for its proficiency in identifying the prevailing market trend and providing clear buy or sell signals, becomes even more powerful with an adaptive price source. This integration allows the Supertrend to adjust more dynamically to market changes, offering traders more accurate and timely trading signals.
5. Application in a Trading System
In a trading system, the Kalman Hull Supertrend indicator can serve as a critical component for identifying market trends and generating signals for potential entry and exit points. Its adaptiveness and sensitivity to price changes make it particularly useful for traders looking to minimize lag in signal generation and improve the accuracy of their market trend analysis. Whether used as a standalone tool or in conjunction with other indicators, its dynamic nature can significantly enhance trading strategies.
6. Core Calculations and Benefits
The core of this indicator lies in its sophisticated filtering and averaging techniques, starting with the Kalman Filter's predictive adjustments, followed by the adaptive smoothing of the Hull Moving Average, and culminating in the trend-detecting capabilities of the Supertrend. This multi-layered approach not only reduces market noise but also adapts to market volatility more effectively. Benefits include improved signal accuracy, reduced lag, and the ability to discern trend changes more promptly, offering traders a competitive edge.

Adaptive Supertrend w/ Floating Levels [Loxx]Adaptive Supertrend w/ Floating Levels is a Supertrend indicator made adaptive by comparing the coefficient of determination / average of the least squares. The basic concept is this: use correlation with an r-squared line to adapt the period of the indicator, thereby resulting in a more versatile Supertrend. This adaptive formula makes the Supertrend more reactive to small fluctuation in the market while still doing what it's supposed to do: track trend. In addition, floating levels are drawn above or below the Supertrend which are calculated with percentage of the highest and lowest values of the Supertrend within the last “lookback” period. These floating levels act as filter to detect / prevent false trend reversals. T
What is the Supertrend?
Supertrend indicator was created by Olivier Seban to work on different time frames. It works for futures, forex, and equities. It is used in 15 minutes, hourly, weekly, and daily charts. Based on the parameters of multiplier and period, the indicator normally uses 3 for multiplier and 7 for the ATR period as default values. Average True Range is represented by the number of days while the multiplier is the value by which the range is multiplied.

Auto Adjust SuperTrend Indicator SuperTrend
It is a standard ATR (Average True Range)-based Trailing Indicator. The indicator takes two default values ATR Period and Factor. The standard settings for Super Trend I have seen are 10,3 or 10,2. These settings will not work for all the instruments, and we end up manually changing these settings. This is where Auto-Adjust Supertrend adds value. Auto-Adjust SuperTrend finds the optimized settings for ATRPeriod and Multiple using a defined algorithm to check all the different ATR Periods and Factors. It backtests different combinations of ATR Period and Factors and Indicator switches to these profitable settings as soon as it detects most profitable setting among given range in the settings.
Default ATR Period : 10 to 20
Default Factor : 2 to 5
The above settings can be altered in the indicator settings. Please do keep in mind that the performance of the indicator reduces as we increase the default settings range.

Adaptive Supertrend with Dynamic Optimization [EdgeTerminal]The Enhanced Adaptive Supertrend represents a significant evolution of the traditional Supertrend indicator, incorporating advanced mathematical optimization, dynamic volatility adjustment, intelligent signal filtering, reduced noise and false positives.
Key Features
Dynamic volatility-adjusted bands
Self-optimizing multiplier
Intelligent signal filtering system
Cooldown period to prevent signal clustering
Clear buy/sell signals with optimal positioning
Smooth trend visualization
RSI and MACD integration for confirmation
Performance-based optimization
Dynamic Band Calculation
Dynamic Band Calculation automatically adapts to market volatility, generates wider bands in volatile periods, reducing false signals. It also generates tighter bands in stable periods, capturing smaller moves and smooth transitions between different volatility regimes.
RSI Integration
The RSI and MACD play multiple crucial roles in the Adaptive Supertrend.
It first helps with momentum factor calculation. This dynamically adjusts band width based on momentum conditions. When the RSI is oversold, bands widen by 20% to prevent false signals during strong downtrends and provide more room for price movements in extreme conditions.
When the RSI is overbought, brands tighten by 20% and they become more sensitive to potential reversals to help catch trend changes earlier.
This reduces false signals in strong trends, helps detect potential reversals earlier than the usual, create adaptive band width based on market conditions and finally, better protection against whipsaws.
MACD Integration
The MACD in this supertrend indicator serves as a trend confirmation tool. The idea is to use MACD crossovers to confirm trend changes to reduce false trend change signals and enhance the signal quality.
For this to become a signal, MACD crossovers must align with price movement to help filter out weak or false signals, which acts as an additional layer of trend confirmation.
Additionally, MACD line position relative to signal line indicates trend strength, helps maintain positions in strong trends and assists in early detection of trend weakening.
Momentum Integration
Momentum Integration prevents false signals in extreme conditions, It adjusts dynamic bands based on market momentum, improves trend confirmation in strong moves and reduces whipsaws during consolidations.
Improved signals
There are a few systems to generate better signals, allowing for generally faster signals compared to original supertrend, such as:
Enforced cooldown period between signals
Prevents signal clustering
Clearer entry/exit points
Reduced false signals during choppy markets
Performance Optimization
This script implements a Sharpe ratio-inspired optimization algorithm to balance returns against risk, penalize large drawdowns, adapt parameters in real-time and improve risk-adjusted performance

Adoptive Supertrend - BandsAnother adoption of supertrend. This time based on different channels - Bollinger Band, Keltner Channel, Donchian Channel and Pivot point based Donchian channel.
When price hits top of bands, it is considered as start or continuation of uptrend. When price hits bottom of the band it is considered as start or continuation of downtrend. Hence, supertrend is drawn based on these calculations. Use ATR Periods and ATR Multiplier to create stops certain ATR away from band's top and bottom.
Other supertrend adoptions published are here:
Pivot point based donchian channel is published here:
ZigZag SupertrendBack to my favourite supertrend. But, this time on the basis of zigzag pivots.
This is similar to forming supertrend based on pivot high lows - but instead of using pivot poitns, we are using zigzag pivots here.
Zigzag is derived using the same method as this script:
But, have removed labels and display options of zigzag. Older lines are also immediately deleted so that it can work well in lower timeframes without any error. Number of zigzaglines to be kept in memory depends on the parameter History
WaitForConfirmation option when selected only considers the confirmed zigzaglines and will ignore present zigzag line which is forming. This is not going to make much difference as the present zigzag line will be always opposite to low or high it formed and hence will not affect the stop loss levels or reversals.
WaitForClose is for supertrend determination. When checked uses close prices. If unchecked uses highs and lows for supertrend direction update.
ATR parameters allow you to set an adjustment below pivot high lows. This is required because support and resistence are often zones rather than single point. Hence, adds bit more wiggle room for trend continuation and delays frequent reversals on pullbacks.
Adoptive Supertrend - Multi PivotsThis is extension to Adoptive Supertrend Pivots indicator published here:
In this version, we make use of both high time frame and lower time frame pivots for efficient trailing of stops in case of bull run such as BTC. If we take example of BTC, no new pivot lows formed from 25th December. This means, our trailing stop is also stuck at ridiculously low level of 20k whereas BTC has nearly hit high of 35k.
Our approach to solve this is by looking at lower time-frame pivots for deriving our trailing stop-loss if stop-loss is too wide from the close price. If the stop-loss isn't wide and new daily pivot lows are forming every now and then, then this indicator will work same as the earlier version of Pivots based Adoptive Supertrend.
There seems to be issue in calculating lower time-frame Pivots and moving stop based on that while being in higher time-frame. Hence, we need to shift to lower time frame chart while making all the calculations such as ATR are done on higher time-frame.
Hence, if you are looking to trade on daily chart, it is advisable to use this indicator on 1H, 2H or 4H chart while keeping parameter HTFResultion set to 1D
Parameters are explained as below:
HTF Resolution : Main resolution on which we need to apply supertrend calculation based on pivots. ATR and Pivot HTF are calculated on this resolution.
Stop Distance Threshold : This is the minimum stop distance from close price in terms of percentage after which we can look for lower time-frame pivots for calculation of trailing stop. If stop loss keeps less than this percent, then lower time frame pivots are not used for calculating trailing stop loss.
ATR Parameters : We use only higher time-frame ATR. Hence, ATR is calculated based on just one ATR Period for both cases. But, we can chose to have different ATR Multiplier for HTF and LTF. Using slightly higher ATR multiplier for lower time-frame than that of higher time-frame is advisable.
Pivot Lengths : You can use different pivot lengths for higher and lower time-frames. We have removed Left and right pivot lengths for keeping it simple. Both will have same value based on selected pivot length for respective time-frames. Using higher Pivot length for lower time-frame is advisable to avoid frequent trailing.

BlackPika Supertrend S1Hello Reader!
This study script is based on the SuperTrend. There are some extra things added to make it able to use more efficiently. They are listed below:
1. Pullback signals: These signals indicate a pull back after a trend reversal and are the most optimum places where you can add to your existing position. They also come with Alerts !
2. Trailing Stop Loss and Take Profit: These further help to reduce the draw-down and can help you to trail profits with more granularity thus securing gains.
How to use ?
----------------
Personally I use it on major pairs on cryptocurrencies like BTCUSD . Usually after the trend flips, there will be pullbacks, You can enter a part of the position when trend reversal is confirmed. Then add more when you get a pullback. To make life simpler, alerts are added for pullback signals as well. These can help acheive good entry price. Entering at pullback signals limits your losses to a great extent, as the trend will flip on the bar close if it goes against you.
You can trade manually or you can automate. All the signals have been provided with Alerts. some signals have been grouped, to reduce the number of the alerts if you wish to.
I wish you all the luck and please comment and Like if you have any doubts.

Supertrend with Volume Filter AlertSupertrend with Volume Filter Alert - Indicator Overview
What is the Supertrend Indicator?
The Supertrend indicator is a popular trend-following tool used by traders to identify the direction of the market and potential entry/exit points. It is based on the Average True Range (ATR), which measures volatility, and plots a line on the chart that acts as a dynamic support or resistance level. When the price is above the Supertrend line, it signals an uptrend (bullish), and when the price is below, it indicates a downtrend (bearish). The indicator is particularly effective in trending markets but can generate false signals during choppy or sideways conditions.
How This Script Works
The "Supertrend with Volume Filter Alert" enhances the classic Supertrend indicator by adding a customizable volume filter to improve signal reliability.
Here's how it functions:
Supertrend Calculation:The Supertrend is calculated using the ATR over a user-defined period (default: 55) and a multiplier (default: 1.85). These parameters control the sensitivity of the indicator:A higher ATR period smooths out volatility, making the indicator less reactive to short-term price fluctuations. The multiplier determines the distance of the Supertrend line from the price, affecting how quickly it responds to trend changes. The script plots the Supertrend line in cyan for uptrends and red for downtrends, making it easy to visualize the market direction.
Volume Filter:A key feature of this script is the volume filter, which helps filter out false signals in choppy markets. The filter compares the current volume to the average volume over a lookback period (default: 20) and only triggers signals if the volume exceeds the average by a specified multiplier (default: 2.0).This ensures that trend changes are accompanied by significant market participation, increasing the likelihood of a genuine trend shift.
Signals and Alerts:
Buy signals (cyan triangle below the bar) are generated when the price crosses above the Supertrend line (indicating an uptrend) and the volume condition is met.Sell signals (red triangle above the bar) are generated when the price crosses below the Supertrend line (indicating a downtrend) and the volume condition is met.Alerts are set up for both buy and sell signals, notifying traders only when the volume filter confirms the trend change.
Customizable Settings for Multiple Markets
The default settings in this script (ATR Period: 55, ATR Multiplier: 1.85, Volume Lookback Period: 20, Volume Multiplier: 2.0) were carefully chosen to provide a balance of sensitivity and reliability across various markets, including stocks, indices (like the S&P 500), forex, and cryptocurrencies.
Here's why these settings work well:
ATR Period (55): A longer ATR period smooths out volatility, making the indicator less prone to whipsaws in volatile markets like crypto or forex, while still being responsive enough for trending markets like indices.
ATR Multiplier (1.85): This multiplier strikes a balance between capturing early trend changes and avoiding noise. A smaller multiplier would make the indicator too sensitive, while a larger one might miss early opportunities.
Volume Lookback Period (20): A 20-bar lookback for volume averaging provides a robust baseline for identifying significant volume spikes, adaptable to both short-term (e.g., daily charts) and longer-term (e.g., weekly charts) timeframes.
Volume Multiplier (2.0): Requiring volume to be at least 2x the average ensures that only high-conviction moves trigger signals, which is crucial for markets with varying liquidity levels.
These parameters are fully customizable, allowing traders to adjust the indicator to their specific market, timeframe, or trading style. For example, you might reduce the ATR period for faster-moving markets or increase the volume multiplier for more conservative signal filtering.
How the Volume Filter Reduces Bad Trades in Choppy Markets
One of the main drawbacks of the Supertrend indicator is its tendency to generate false signals during choppy or ranging markets, where price fluctuates without a clear trend. The volume filter in this script addresses this issue by ensuring that trend changes are backed by significant market activity:
In choppy markets, price movements often lack strong volume, leading to false breakouts or reversals. By requiring volume to be a multiple (default: 2x) of the average volume over the lookback period, the script filters out these low-volume, low-conviction moves. This reduces the likelihood of taking bad trades during sideways markets, as only trend changes with strong volume confirmation will trigger signals. For example, on a daily chart of the S&P 500, a buy signal will only fire if the price crosses above the Supertrend line and the volume on that day is at least twice the 20-day average, indicating genuine buying pressure.
Usage Tips
Markets and Timeframes: This indicator is versatile and can be used on various assets (stocks, indices, forex, crypto) and timeframes (1-minute, 1-hour, daily, etc.). Adjust the settings based on the market's volatility and your trading strategy.
Combine with Other Indicators: While the volume filter improves reliability, consider using additional indicators like RSI or MACD to confirm trends, especially in ranging markets.
Backtesting: Test the indicator on historical data for your chosen market to optimize the settings and ensure they align with your trading goals.
Alerts: Set up alerts for buy and sell signals to stay informed of high-probability trend changes without constantly monitoring the chart.
ConclusionThe "Supertrend with Volume Filter Alert" is a powerful tool for trend-following traders, combining the simplicity of the Supertrend indicator with a volume-based filter to enhance signal accuracy. Its customizable settings make it adaptable to multiple markets, while the volume filter helps reduce false signals in choppy conditions, allowing traders to focus on high-probability trades. Whether you're trading stocks, indices, forex, or crypto, this indicator can help you identify trends with greater confidence.
Dynamic Score Supertrend [QuantAlgo]Dynamic Score Supertrend 📈🚀
The Dynamic Score Supertrend by QuantAlgo introduces a sophisticated trend-following tool that combines the well-known Supertrend indicator with an innovative dynamic trend scoring technique . By tracking market momentum through a scoring system that evaluates price behavior over a customizable window, this indicator adapts to changing market conditions. The result is a clearer, more adaptive tool that helps traders and investors detect and capitalize on trend shifts with greater precision.
💫 Conceptual Foundation and Innovation
At the core of the Dynamic Score Supertrend is the dynamic trend score system , which measures price movements relative to the Supertrend’s upper and lower bands. This scoring technique adds a layer of trend validation, assessing the strength of price trends over time. Unlike traditional Supertrend indicators that rely solely on ATR calculations, this system incorporates a scoring mechanism that provides more insight into trend direction, allowing traders and investors to navigate both trending and choppy markets with greater confidence.
✨ Technical Composition and Calculation
The Dynamic Score Supertrend utilizes the Average True Range (ATR) to calculate the upper and lower Supertrend bands. The dynamic trend scoring technique then compares the price to these bands over a customizable window, generating a trend score that reflects the current market direction.
When the score exceeds the uptrend or downtrend thresholds, it signals a possible shift in market direction. By adjusting the ATR settings and window length, the indicator becomes more adaptable to different market conditions, from steady trends to periods of higher volatility. This customization allows users to refine the Supertrend’s sensitivity and responsiveness based on their trading or investing style.
📈 Features and Practical Applications
Customizable ATR Settings: Adjust the ATR length and multiplier to control the sensitivity of the Supertrend bands. This allows the indicator to smooth out noise or react more quickly to price shifts, depending on market conditions.
Window Length for Dynamic Scoring: Modify the window length to adjust how many data points the scoring system considers, allowing you to tailor the indicator’s responsiveness to short-term or long-term trends.
Uptrend/Downtrend Thresholds: Set thresholds for identifying trend signals. Increase these thresholds for more reliable signals in choppy markets, or lower them for more aggressive entry points in trending markets.
Bar and Background Coloring: Visual cues such as bar coloring and background fills highlight the direction of the current trend, making it easier to spot potential reversals and trend shifts.
Trend Confirmation: The dynamic trend score system provides a clearer confirmation of trend strength, helping you identify strong, sustained movements while filtering out false signals.
⚡️ How to Use
✅ Add the Indicator: Add the Dynamic Score Supertrend to your favourites, then apply it to your chart. Adjust the ATR length, multiplier, and dynamic score settings to suit your trading or investing strategy.

Custom Supertrend Multi-Timeframe Indicator [Pineify]Supertrend Multi-Timeframe Indicator
Introduction
The Supertrend Multi-Timeframe Indicator is an advanced trading tool designed to help traders identify trend directions and potential buy/sell signals by combining Supertrend indicators from multiple timeframes. This script is original in its approach to integrating Supertrend calculations across different timeframes, providing a more comprehensive view of market trends.
Concepts and Calculations
The indicator utilizes the Supertrend algorithm, which is based on the Average True Range (ATR). The Supertrend is a popular tool for trend-following strategies, and this script enhances its capabilities by incorporating data from a larger timeframe.
Supertrend Factor: Determines the sensitivity of the Supertrend line.
ATR Length: Defines the period for calculating the Average True Range.
Larger Supertrend Factor and ATR Length: Applied to the larger timeframe for a broader trend perspective.
Larger Timeframe: The higher timeframe from which the secondary Supertrend data is sourced.
How It Works
The script calculates the Supertrend for the current timeframe using the specified factor and ATR length.
Simultaneously, it requests Supertrend data from a larger timeframe.
Buy and sell signals are generated based on crossovers and crossunders of the Supertrend lines from both timeframes.
Visual cues (up and down arrows) are plotted on the chart to indicate buy and sell signals.
Background colors change to reflect the trend direction: green for an uptrend and red for a downtrend.
Usage
Add the indicator to your TradingView chart.
Customize the Supertrend factors, ATR lengths, and larger timeframe according to your trading strategy.
Enable or disable buy and sell alerts as needed.
Monitor the chart for visual signals and background color changes to make informed trading decisions.
Note: The indicator is best used in conjunction with other technical analysis tools and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for trading decisions.
Conclusion
The Supertrend Multi-Timeframe Indicator offers a unique and powerful way to analyze market trends by leveraging the strengths of the Supertrend algorithm across multiple timeframes. Its customizable settings and clear visual signals make it a valuable addition to any trader's toolkit.
