BCT Buy And Hold w/ Advanced StatisticsThis is a script designed to simulate a buy and hold strategy in the chart that its applied to.
Tradingview backtester is really limited in the statistics it gives you based on equity and information of open trades. For that reason many of the buy and hold scripts suffer from the same problem, a lack of useful statistics about your buy and hold strategy.
This script allows you to filter a specific buy and hold period (or use the whole data available in the tradingivew chart) and get useful statistics based on equity on a bar by bar basis.
Date Range Filtering
This allows you to chose a specific period to test the buy and hold strategy and to visualize the statistics.
We include 3 main tables which offer useful information so you can compare your strategy vs buy and hold strategy.
This 3 tables are:
Draw Downs Table
This table shows the Current P/L, Current Draw Down, Average and Maximum Draw Downs based on the equity of the buy and hold strategy calculated by candle. This can show you how much average and maximum loss or pain you would have to go through in order to stick to the buy and hold strategy.
Custom Statistics Table
This table shows useful advanced statistics to compare the buy and hold strategy to other strategies.
CAGR: Compounded annual growth rate is the industry standard in terms of showing annualized returns for any strategy or investment.
Annualized Return ($)
Trade Duration (Days): Self explanatory, displays how long the buy and hold trade was open or is open counted in days.
Max Stagnation Period (Days): Measures the Maximum time taken between new equity highs.
Average Draw Down : Average value of all draw downs from equity highs over the period (sampled 1 time per candle).
Maximum Draw Down : Largest draw down from equity highs in the whole period.
Return / Avg DrawDown: Advanced Proprietary statistic in which the annualized (non compounding) return is divided by the Average Draw Down (displayed in the Draw Downs Table)
Return / Maximum DrawDown: Advanced statistic in which the annualized (non compounding) return is divided by the Maximum Draw Down (displayed in the Draw Downs Table)
CAGR / Avg DrawDown: Advanced Proprietary statistic in which the CAGR (compounding) is divided by the Average Draw Down (displayed in the Draw Downs Table)
CAGR / Maximum DrawDown: Advanced Proprietary statistic in which the CAGR (compounding) is divided by the Maximum Draw Down (displayed in the Draw Downs Table)
Note: All the advanced statistics show, in slightly different ways, how much a strategy compensates you in relation to the risk taken. In other words you can see this as a way to quantify risk adjusted returns between multiple strategies. We prefer using the CAGR based advanced Statistics as they give a more universal value to compare across multiple strategies and asset classes.
In Sample / Out Of Sample Custom Stats (IS/OOS) Table
This table shows similar statistics as the Custom Statistics Table but is able to break down the backtest period into segments, this is useful when testing strategies as it can be used to test optimization quality. In this Buy and Hold strategy this can be used to visualize the stats of 2 periods at the same time and compare them without need to change settings or use another instance of the script.
All the Stats are the same as in the Custom Statistics Table with the difference of some being removed and the table being constructed in a way that facilitates the comparison of stats between In Sample, Out Of Sample and Full periods
Analisis Trend
Three EMAs Trend-following Strategy (by Coinrule)Trend-following strategies are great because they give you the peace of mind that you're trading in line with the market.
However, by definition, you're always following . That means you're always a bit later than your want to be. The main challenges such strategies face are:
Confirming that there is a trend
Following the trend, hopefully, early enough to catch the majority of the move
Hopping off the trade when it seems to have run its course
This EMA Trend-following strategy attempts to address such challenges while allowing for a dynamic stop loss.
ENTRY
The trading system requires three crossovers on the same candle to confirm that a new trend is beginning:
Price crossing over EMA 7
Price crossing over EMA 14
Price crossing over EMA 21
The first benefit of using all three crossovers is to reduce false signals. The second benefit is that you know that a strong trend is likely to develop relatively soon, with the help of the fast setup of the three EMAs.
EXIT
The strategy comes with a fixed take profit and a volatility stop, which acts as a trailing stop to adapt to the trend's strength. That helps you get out of the way as soon as market conditions change. Depending on your long term confidence in the asset, you can edit the fixed take profit to be more conservative or aggressive.
The position is closed when:
The price increases by 4%
The price crosses below the volatility stop.
The best time frame for this strategy based on our backtest is the 4-hr. Shorter timeframes can also work well, although they exhibit larger volatility in their returns. In general, this approach suits medium timeframes. A trading fee of 0.1% is taken into account. The fee is aligned to the base fee applied on Binance, which is the largest cryptocurrency exchange.
You can execute this strategy on your favourite exchange at coinrule.com
3x Supertrend and Stoch RSIBased on the strategy if Trade pro "HIGHEST PROFIT Triple Supertrend Trading Strategy Proven 100 Trade Results"
Your entry long signal will show when two of the three supertrend are green and the stochastic rsi cross up and the candle is above the ema
Your entry short signal will show when two of the three supertrend are red and the stochastic rsi cross down and the candle is below the ema
You can change the settings of the three supertrend and the stochastic rsi
Daily HIGH/LOW strategyThis is a DAILY High/LOW strategy combined with a moving average and volume for more accuracy.
The rules are simple :
For long if we had a cross of the high with the previous high and close of the candle is above moving average and chaikin money flow volume is positive we have a long entry.
We exit when we cross down the moving average with the close of the candle.
For short if we had a crossdown of the low with the previous low and close of the candle is below moving average and chaikin money flow volume is negative we have a short entry.
We exit when we cross above the moving average with the close of the candle.
This strategy has no risk management inside so use it with caution.

####### How Strategy Work ########
################################
Strategy use multiple signals and technical data. Including and not limited to Simple Moving Averages, Volume , & Trends. In this chart, we picked Polkadot (DOTUSD) crypto coin as an example with an initial capital of $1k. We have also added a slippage of 1 just to be on the safe side and a commission rate of 0.01% (Commission rates depends of your broker).
#################################
######## Built with Inputs #########
################################
Date Pick: User can backtest the plugin with exact date you want from to till. For an example, you can check date from 01 / 01 /2020 (Default setting date) till day, and compare apple to apple results with other stocks. This is mostly used to check if another stock/crypto do better than the other compared to a given timeframe.
Risk Management per Trade: This also allows users to put their own risk management loss percentage. In default it is set to 100%. This allows user to see in the long run, if this provide better results with or without a stop loss.
Commission Rates: User can update commission rates according to their broker's fees
Slippage: To be more conservative about the entry and exit of a trade, user can input any slippage amount

#### How to Detect BUY Signals #####
################################
When a teal color BUY signal is given, it is a BUY. This signal basically happen when a stock land in a high volatility zone. We use in-build systems such as MA , Support and Resistance and Trends to come up with the Buy Signal. Algorithm make a market order when the criteria's are met and algorithm exit if this turns out to be a bluff bullish signal.
#################################
#### How to Detect SELL Signals #####
################################
When a maroon color SELL signal is given, it is a SELL happen when a momentum changed in a bearish downtrend. Sell happen when a momentum changed in a bearish downtrend. We use moving averages and trend analysis to identify downtrends. Algorithm make a market order when the criteria's are met. There is a in-built risk management that make an exit order when a bullish alert turns out to be a bluff.
#################################
#### Bullish and Bearish Signals #####
################################
When a silver color Bearish signal is given, it is a BEARISH trend alert. It's up to the user to decide what to do when this alert is given. (Note: Backtest data only shows Buy and Sell Signal market orders results, it does not account bearish alerts), a Bearish signal given when the stock/crypto is overbought in multiple technical indicators.
When a sea blue Bullish trend signaled. (Mind this sea blue color signal will not be calculated in the backtest, it is up to the users to decide what to do with this bullish signal) - This signal happen when a stock is oversold in multiple technical indicators.

VCP pivot buyIt will buy the breakout of the pivot in a bullish trend which is defined by the Mark Minervini stage 2 template
Set the stop loss% and Target% in your favor ( recommend the stoploss% as the low percentile atrp )
It helps indicate the contraction point so that we can have a low-risk entry of a buy point.
It followed the strategy of Mark Minervini.
changing the lookback period input to change the percentile
changing the Pivot Length to decide how many bars you would consider as a pivot
changing the Close range to decide in how much percentage does the close range you would consider as a pivot
The percentile rank is represented in the colour of the background, you can alter how low you want to set to indicate lowering volatility.
The blue line shows the percentage range in ( pivot length) days/bars
The coloured background shows the signal of pivot point forming
Linear SSL ShortThis script consist of two parts: linear SSL and DEMA. The difference between original SSL and current is that it calculated by linear regression. The logic is simple: when SSL "crossunder" and DEMA is above the price - we get short signal. When price became above DEMA and SSL "crossover" - close short.

© Investoz Monthly Overlook Strategy“The best time to get involved with cyclicals is when the economy is at its weakest, earnings are at their lowest, and public sentiment is at its bleakest.”
Peter Lynch
Before I begin, read the following.
Important! The script for this strategy is only intended to work correctly for the monthly time period and does not work for other time periods, as it is based on monthly data.
The strategy
This strategy is simple and based on monthly buy and sell. However, the strategy is only intended to go long and no short positions are therefore possible.
This strategy is perfectly suited for all indices, but also for cyclical companies and cyclical markets.
Monthly analysis
You do not need to use this strategy for a buying signal only. You can use this for a more comprehensive analysis of how return per month has looked historically. It's easy to analyze, by flipping through all the months of the year. You will see average return per month, but also the largest return and decrease for each individual month.
It is also possible to choose between which time periods you want to analyze. You can go all the way back to the year 1900.
This is necessary if you are going to analyze markets that have a long historical data to analyze.
How it works
1. Start by choosing which time period the analysis or strategy should apply between.
2. Choose which month the first and second buy will be valid from. Here it is important to know that depending on which month you choose, is meant a buy after the current month's closing.
Example: 1 = January. Buy will therefore be after January closes, ie the first trading day in February. It will be displayed as 1st trading day in February. If you only want one buy option, then choose the same month for both first and second buy.
3. Choose which month the first and second sell will be valid from. The same applies here as above.
4. Choose money management according to the criteria that suit you and press "OK".
Result
Based on the choices you have made, you will now get a result of how the strategy has performed over the given period. You will be able to read following data.
Data
Start Capital -the trading capital you have from the beginning.
Actual Capital -the current trading capital you have at the moment.
Growth -percentage growth over the total trading period.
Annual growth -average return for the chosen period.
Profit factor -the profit factor looks at the total gains and losses.
Payoff ratio -looks at the average profit and loss.
Expectancy per trade -the expected profit or loss of a single trade.
Expectancy in total based on number of trades -the expected profit or loss for all the trades made.
Expectancy ratio -the power of an edge. With this, you are always looking for a positive expectancy to show you that the trade is profitable.
Expectancy % -the expected return in percentage based on all the trades
Maximun drawdown -drawdown for a single trade based on current trading capital
Fractional Kelly Criterion -the optimal amount to invest based on the strategy and multiplying it by a certain fraction (%). This results in less volatile returns and a lower chance of the account balance hitting zero.
Kelly % -percentage of capital to be put into a single trade.
Risk of ruin -the chance that you will lose all the amount you typed in for "Maximum loss of portfolio".
Conclusion
It is important to know if you have an edge in your strategy and above all to understand risk. With the help of all this information, it will therefore be easier to adapt the risk to the strategy, not the other way around. This approach applies to all types of strategies. Be aware of the risk, first!

SQV CrossThis strategy is used to find tickers that do well when SPY and QQQ are up and VIX is down. This uses EMA's on the user defined resolution to define direction of each ticker. Trades are entered upon crossover. EMAs are user defined as well.
MA&AOThat is quit simple strategy, which combines only two indicators: AO and MA. The logic of trades is also clear, when AO is bullish; slow ma is under the close price; fast ma > slow ma - buy.
8 Day Extended Runs Inspired by Linda Bradford Raschke.
Strategy suited to the US T-note (ZN1!) with a t-test of 4.06.
The 5 day SMA is vital to Linda’s trend identification system. She’s done extensive testing and research using this indicator and has built models based on it. Linda used the 5 day SMA to determine that large outlier price moves happen in the direction of the trend in each market about 9-10 times per year. The powerful part about that number is that when the trend does persist, it can go on a long run, making this a trade with a high expected value.
Note: the current exit criteria is sell 10 days after entry, users should experiment with different stop placements.
BarUpDn Long StrategyThis is a bar up/down strategy for going long only where you can specify how many bars up to buy and how many bars down to sell. It also has code to check and make sure the condition is still true when launching the official alert, which helps back testing and live results line up, however be sure to enter commission and slippage into the properties to accurately reflect profits. I added back testing date ranges to this so you can easily pull up and see back tested results for a certain date range. I also added a buy and sell message fields in the properties so you can launch alerts that will work with automated trading services. Simply enter your buy message and sell message into those fields in the properties and then when you create an alert enter {{strategy.order.alert_message}} into the alert body and it will dynamically pull in your buy and sell messages when it fires alerts.

Ultimate Bollinger Bands by @DaviddTechThis strategy uses the Ultimate Bollinger and Aroon indicator.
The logic behind the code is
* Enter long :
Aroon up is below the 20 or lower line in settings.
Aroon down is above 70 or above line in settings.
When close crossover the lower Bollinger Band we take an entry
SL is %
TP is % of if Aroon up is below the 70 or lower line in settings.
Aroon down is above 20 or above line in settings.
When close crossover the upper Bollinger Band
* Short :
Aroon down is below the 20 or lower line in settings.
Aroon up is above 70 or above line in settings.
When close crossunder the upper Bollinger Band we take an entry
SL is %
TP is % of if Aroon up is below the 20 or lower line in settings.
Aroon down is above 70 or above line in settings.
When close crossover the lower Bollinger Band

Moon Phases Strategy 2015 till 2021Moon Phases Strategy
Thank you to Author: Dustin Drummond for allowing me to use his Moon Phase strategy code and modify it. I wanted to test out the accuracy of the moon phase. And I could not have done it without his code
It was created to test the Moon Phase theory compared to just a buy and hold strategy.
It buys on full Moon and sells on the new moon. I also have added the ability to add stop loss and target profit if anyone wants to tinker with it. This strategy uses hard-coded dates from 1/1/2015 until 12/31/2021 only! Any dates outside of that range need to be added manually in the code or it will not work.
I may or may not update this so please don't be upset if it stops working after 12/31/2021.
Feel free to use any part of this code and please let me know if you can improve on this strategy.
