Institutional Bias Engine [Confirmed]Institutional Bias Engine
Built for traders who want to see what the institutions are doing before the move happens, not after.
Most retail indicators react to price. This one reads volume structure, money flow, and smart money zones simultaneously to identify when institutional capital is accumulating or distributing. When enough factors line up, a signal fires. When the environment looks like a trap, the built-in reversal protection blocks it.
WHAT IT DOES
The indicator runs five systems in parallel and combines their outputs into a single bias reading with optional entry signals.
Volume Analysis separates bull volume from bear volume on every bar using a VWMA-weighted split. It calculates net flow, identifies when volume crosses the institutional threshold, and tracks the flow percentile across a rolling 100-bar window. Candles are colored based on the strength and direction of the flow so you can see the institutional bias at a glance without reading any numbers.
Smart Money Zones detect order blocks and fair value gaps in real time. Order blocks are institutional candles where price reversed with volume confirmation. Fair value gaps are price imbalances between candles that price tends to return to and fill. Both are tracked persistently with mitigation detection, meaning they stay on the chart until price closes through them and then fade, so you always know which zones are still active.
Signal Confluence scores the current bar across five factors: bull or bear volume zone, institutional buy or sell detection, order block presence, fair value gap presence, and flow percentile rank. A signal fires only when enough factors agree simultaneously. You control the minimum threshold through the Signal Mode setting.
Reversal Protection is a weighted scoring system that runs independently of the signal. It measures four conditions that historically precede reversals: RSI at an extreme, a volume climax spike, price stretched beyond a set percentage from the EMA, and an exhausted run of consecutive same-color candles. Each condition carries a configurable weight. If the combined score exceeds your block threshold, the signal is suppressed even if confluence is strong enough to fire. This prevents chasing into extended moves.
Money Flow Profile is a visual bar chart drawn to the right of the current bar showing the distribution of net institutional flow over the last 100 bars. The highest activity bucket glows and is labeled. A zero line separates net buying from net selling. The bias label at the bottom of the panel shows the average flow direction in plain text.
HOW TO USE
Add the indicator to any liquid instrument on the 5-minute through 1-hour timeframe. The candle coloring gives you the macro bias at a glance. Green gradient candles indicate confirmed bull flow. Red and orange gradient candles indicate bear flow. Yellow indicates neutral or transitional conditions.
The dashboard at the bottom of the chart shows the current signal, flow zone, institutional activity state, confluence score, reversal protection score, and trade management status all in one place. You never need to read individual lines.
When a signal fires it appears as a label on the bar with the entry direction and TP and SL prices. The TP and SL levels are projected as dashed lines forward from the entry so you can see the trade at a glance. When the trade closes, an exit label appears showing whether the result was a TP, SL, or time exit.
Use the RSI extreme level lines to identify price zones where the market has already been oversold or overbought in the recent session. These are drawn automatically when RSI hits an extreme and remain on the chart for a configurable number of days. They serve as context for the signal, not triggers in themselves.
SETTINGS
Volume Analysis
Volume MA Length: Baseline period for institutional volume detection. Default 24.
High Volume Multiplier: Volume must exceed this multiple of the average to qualify as institutional. Default 2.0. Lower for more sensitivity, raise for stricter filtering.
Delta Smoothing: Percentage used to filter noise out of the bull and bear volume separation. Higher values require a cleaner directional bias before a zone is confirmed.
Institutional Sensitivity: Controls how dominant one side of volume must be relative to the other to trigger institutional detection. Default 1.3. Lower values fire more often.
Smart Money Zones
Show Order Blocks: Displays institutional reversal candles in Pro mode.
Show Fair Value Gaps: Displays persistent FVG zones that track mitigation in real time.
Min FVG Size: Minimum gap size as a percentage of price to qualify as a fair value gap. Filters out micro gaps that are not meaningful.
Signal Settings
Signal Mode: Conservative requires four confluence factors. Balanced requires three. Aggressive requires two. Start with Balanced and adjust based on your instrument and timeframe.
Signal Cooldown: Minimum bars between signals. Prevents clustering entries during fast moves.
Reversal Protection
Enable Reversal Protection: Turns on the weighted scoring system that blocks signals when reversal conditions are elevated.
RSI Extreme Weight, Volume Climax Weight, Price Stretch Weight, Consecutive Candles Weight: Each condition contributes this many points to the reversal score. The four weights do not need to sum to 100. Adjust each independently based on which conditions you find most reliable on your instrument.
Block Threshold: If the reversal score reaches or exceeds this value, the signal is suppressed. Default 50.
Show RSI Extreme Levels: Draws dashed horizontal lines at price levels where RSI last hit oversold or overbought within the lookback window. Useful as context for entries near those zones.
Trade Management
Enable Trade Management: Activates the one-trade-at-a-time system with TP, SL, and maximum bars enforcement.
Take Profit and Stop Loss: Percentage-based from the entry close price.
Max Bars Force Exit: If neither TP nor SL is reached within this many bars, the trade closes at market. Prevents positions from sitting indefinitely in stalled conditions.
Display Mode: Lite shows only signals. Standard adds the dashboard. Pro adds the money flow profile and order blocks.
Color Preset: CodaPro uses teal and magenta. Institutional uses green and red. Heatmap uses cyan and orange.
NON-REPAINTING STATEMENT
All signals are generated on confirmed bar closes using barstate.isconfirmed. No signal fires on an unfinished bar. Labels are placed on confirmed bars and do not move after placement. Fair value gap zones use confirmed historical data only and update their mitigation status on confirmed closes. What you see on historical bars reflects what would have fired in live conditions.
