AMD Ryzen is a pretty good processor and very affordable compared to Intel chips. And the problems around the chip is getting fixed and OSes and games will support it's 8 core architecture.
Another point is, Intel has more priority over "AMD" because it's going to go into self-driving car space. Because that's the hottest topic these days :)
So, they'll have less time focusing on AMD and eventually, AMD could capture more market share in the market.
Nvidia - GPU
AMD has along taken some market space from Nvidia . Recently released Nvidia GPUs are great but it's a question whether it could affect AMD.
AMD hasn't launched there new Vega GPU yet. But there's a good hope that it'll be great.
