Looking for ideas to create a new exchange?

I have recently come into a lot of money from crypto and am looking to design a new exchange with the capital. I have been using Bittrex and have been growing increasingly unhappy with the constant lag, tabs crashing and prices not updating fast enough. I am looking for thoughts on what everyone thinks is lacking in the current exchanges besides the responsiveness.
