Here are some news items, earnings releases and an overlay of crude oil on the TSLA chart to help you navigate how the stock is doing.
CLEARLY, crude oil is having a major impact on the price of TSLA as you can see it dragged it down steadily from summer down into January. There was a brief lift in February and another test of the lows in March. The rally off the bottom in crude has coincided with the rally in TSLA shares.
The bad news "green box" at the bottom is just my way of labeling where I felt the market was absorbing a lot of bad news, from employees in China getting let go due to poor sales and analyst downgrades. If we could have more information plotted on this chart, you'd see that analysts LOVED the stock as it was driving to new all time highs last summer. So, keep tabs on where all of this news hits the tape and we can navigate with that information.
Also note, TSLA will now be publishing its "new car deliveries within three days of quarter end" as a new company policy. April 6 was the last announcement and the stock jumped on the news of 10,030 deliveries. I highlighted that news with a yellow triangle so you can see it easily.
As for now, if you can forecast Crude Oil well, then you can trade TSLA stock. In the long run, that won't be the case, but it has been the case lately.
