LSK - QTUM - STRATIS - Speculation vs Investments

I hate to be a Debbie downer but Sometimes reality and the truth hurts. During the internet and dotcom boom there were more speculative companies than there are coins on the market right now. But of all of those companies few, very few made it to market. So we must stick with coins that meet the following in our core portfolio.

1) A solid working product - not one in development, not one with hope. We want a solid working product.
2) A marketable product - many products look cool but are not marketable, we must distinguish what market they are going after.
3) Market penetration - I cannot emphasize enough how important market penetration is for any product. First to market has a huge advantage. Miscorsoft Cisco Amazon to name a few
4) Solid team - A team that is not only qualified but is passionate about what they do. This is why Redhat and linux still exist but they never became what Microsoft is
5) A solid vision for the future
6) Flexibility to adapt to changes. Just because stratis has a cool feature doesn't mean ETH' can't implement that feature and make stratis insignificant again.

So that leads us to 3 very speculative coins and I'm not saying not to own them, but to keep in mind they are SPECULATIVE. Think of all the bio-tech companies that had great ideas but are no longer in existence. Why? Well those that already have market share that are well run companies can easily adapt (flexibility) and adjust to this better technology and they already have market share. This is crucial to keep in mind. But none the less there are the exceptions and this is the reason I have a speculative portfolio separate from my 70/30 portfolio.

All three of these are in my speculative portfolio. Kind of like the shotgun approach but with a narrow range. I mean who didn't want to invest in google even though netscape and internet explorer already had market share. Those are what we are looking for and getting in early can often lead to great returns.

Lisk seems to have made a nice move today. up almost 100% in the past couple of days. Loving it. So I have shaved off a little here and will look to catch the pullback in the $5-6 range. Lisk has promise and could compete with ETH' for market share. But they still do not have a working product, however I like the technology.

Qtum also has been channel surfing and seems to finally be breaking out. I have added a little hear for the breakout with a target of $18 which is a trade only. I will use the profits to further reduce my cost in QTUM by adding the profits to the position. I chose $18 as that is the prior high. But will monitor it closely so I do not end up losing my butt if it pulls back.

That leads us with Stratis. Yes stratis is speculative but what I like about them the most is their integration with microsoft's net framework. If I go on the Microsoft azure website Statis is already on there. This is not just a "partner" for website fluff, this means microsoft is serious about blockchain. Now there are a few other coins that are on microsoft's website Waves, emercoin and syscoin and for me owning a few of each for speculation is not a bad idea. I said a few! But what I like most about stratis is the chart. Statis is poised to pop. So I may initiate a trade in the next 24-48 hours on stratis on a breakout.

In closing whether you like ETH' or not ETH' has market share and penetration. This should be your core holding not Lisk or Qtum or even statis. These are speculative stocks and should be treated as such. Does one become the next google? Who knows so it is important to keep an eye on them for updates and if you want to add, I would do it with trading around a core position. Buy breakouts, sell, keep the pofits in coins.

For long term Investments stick with those coins with working products, market penetration, good marketing team, and a team passionate about being #1. (DASH' for example). Speculation should be very small and separate from the core!
Komen:
Stratis from a TA perspective has the nicest chart period! i have added here as the market looks to be breaking out of it's correction. This could be the start of a new bull run but we have to be patient and wait to see!
