Despite the strength of the US Dollar (USD) and the elevated US Treasury yields resulting from hawkish comments made by US Federal Reserve (Fed) Chair Jerome Powell on Thursday, the price of gold continues to rise.

Chair Powell expressed concerns that the policies implemented may not be sufficiently restrictive to bring inflation down to the target over time. However, there is a prevailing belief in the markets that the Fed has finished its tightening cycle, which has contributed to weakening the US Dollar (USD).
